Plain-English summary

You can complete the diagnostic without entering your name, email address, tax identification numbers, dollar amounts, or documents. Your selections are sent to the server only to maintain a short-lived, secure browser-session draft and are not added to the submissions database unless you expressly request a second opinion and consent to retention.

Information handled during the diagnostic

To recover from an accidental refresh, selected option numbers, the current question, and a random session identifier may be kept for up to four hours in an encrypted-transport, HTTP-only browser cookie. The cookie does not contain your name, email address, answer text, tax identifiers, account numbers, or documents. It is not used for advertising.

Information retained when you request a review

After you consent and submit the second-opinion form, Tax Diagnostic retains your contact details, contact preference, general review scope and timing, tax-year selection, optional description, diagnostic selections and classification when applicable, submission time, consent version, and a notification-status record. These records are stored in the website's protected production database.

How the information is used

Submitted information is used to evaluate whether a follow-up conversation may be appropriate, respond to your request, operate the owner dashboard, prevent duplicate requests, and troubleshoot delivery failures. If an email alert is configured, it contains contact and reference information only—not diagnostic answers or your optional tax description.

What you should not submit

Do not enter or email Social Security numbers, taxpayer identification numbers, bank or brokerage account numbers, passwords, complete tax returns, identity documents, or other highly sensitive material. Secure document collection, if appropriate, occurs only after scope and engagement terms are addressed separately.

Analytics and service providers

Tax Diagnostic does not currently use third-party advertising or behavioral analytics. Hosting, database, authentication, and optional notification providers process limited information only as needed to operate the service. Diagnostic answer text and contact details are not intentionally sent to an analytics platform.

Retention, access, and deletion

Request records are retained as reasonably needed to respond, maintain business records, and operate the service. You may ask about or request deletion of a submission by emailing hello@taxdiagnostic.com with your reference number. Some records may be retained when reasonably necessary for legal, security, or recordkeeping purposes.
